I can appreciate Wes wanting Libertarians to vote down the party line. He says he's realistic/pragmatic and just working hard in his approach. Those are all fine and dandy since that's his job. He also stated that if Libertarians get 10% for the next hundred years then that would be ok. I'm a Libertarian, and that wouldn't be OK. And I'm pragmatic/realistic in that approach as well.
We don't have 100 years. I think most people can sense that. At this point it's damage control. Once the fire of expanding government is smoldered, then Libertarians can start cracking the whip at full throttle.
As it stands now, we are soon to be out of time. Yes, I know, there's never enough time. It's always an emergency, etc. But our circumstances havn't been as this at any other time in history. Bankruptcy and a debt that 500 JP Morgan's couldn't pay off.
The issue is total debt and it's interest. $107 Trillion in unfunded Government liabilities. The other issue is a totalitarian government. Usually they go hand in hand.
The payment on debt will equal our total US GDP in how many years? 4? 3? We're nearly out of time.
Right now I'm voting to stave off an all out war. If that means using a Republican or a Democrat or a Libertarian to do it, then that's what I'll use. My principle is first based on first the bible, and second on the contract called the Constitution. And the principle most apt here is choosing the lesser of two evils. As far as principle, let's ask the dinosaurs what kind of principles they had… This isn't the time to go Puritan. It's time to win- even if it means burning the Republican party out from the inside.
And the reason for all of this is because once a war begins, so ends this discussion. And then these truths that are self-evident to all of us, and a mystery to others, will be paid for in blood. And we start over.

What's the difference between a big "L" and little "l" libertarian? Guessing one is the party and the latter is the philosophy. I would really consider myself a liberal though that term has been distorted to the point of no return. Can't say I really care about parties anymore, if I see a Republican or Democrat I like I'll vote for him regardless of party affiliation.
Most Republicans where I live already agree that government should stay out of our fiscal lives. They seem to be the easiest to reach though they still believe in ridiculous gay marriage bans and think war is the answer to everything (ya know, like WWII got us out of the depression, broken window fallacy anyone?)
So called "liberals" are a lost cause I believe, they seem to think they are Robin Hood. Though Robin Hood was actually returning wealth that was expropriated by unjust taxes; they recall the moral of the story being simply "stealing from the rich to give to the poor."
So please DON'T vote down party line even if they consider themselves libertarian. Get on Google, do some research and really see whether these candidates are worth their salt.

Thanks Judge. As always, this segment was informative and differentiating between candidates and politicians who selectively support liberty and smaller government from those politicians who support liberty and smaller government across the board–fiscal policy, foreign policy, and personal choice issues.
I continue to believe that the Libertarian Party is a far better alternative than either the Democratic or Republican parties. However, having voted Libertarian in 2004, I was really disappointed in the selection of Bob Barr and Wayne Allyn Root as the Libertarian candidates for president and vice president, respectively. Making a former supporter of the Drug War and a former supporter of the Iraq War the two standard bearers for the Libertarian Party was a collosal mistake, and drove countless libertarians (both minarchists and anarcho-capitalists) away from the party.
I hope the Libertarian Party gets its act together for 2012 and offers a presidential and vice presidential candidate with genuinely libertarian views. They don't necessarily need to have purist positions on 100% of the issues, but offering a presidential and vice presidential candidate who are both solidly antiwar and anti War on Drugs would be nice.

She doesn't know any better (and/or) Told to by her "handlers"
Debra Medina hasn't been pushed by the MSM and Sarah Palin doesn't know about her.
If she does know about her now, it is to late to flip/flop on her endorsement and look like she is not a main line party advocate. The list goes on…..
