jcdenton, this argument was first made by Lysander Spooner I think. I'm sure the Judge is more than aware of this argument. In fact he may be sympathetic to it, but for the sake of pragmatism it seems worthwhile to narrow the gov. according to the constitution first, and then take it from there once the time comes.

I'm not surprised. Most young people entering the military, especially those going straight into a commissioning program, are very sincere in their desire to uphold the Constitution. And the Constitution itself is very libertarian, what with the guarantees of individual liberties and freedom from excessive government intrusion.

Permanent money, especially lawful money ( gold or silver coin ), is a pre-requisite to any real market recovery. Under the current debt-based fiat monetary system more and more newly created money must be borrowed into circulation to payoff the previous debt and still provide a circulating medium for the transaction of commerce. I believe we still had some form of lawful money circulating to enable market recovery from the Great Depression, but today no such lawful permanent money exists. I say that recovery under this system is not possible in the long term. Eventually the foreigners will lose confidence in our funny money, the jig will be up then.
