When Republicans are out of power, they campaign like Libertarians.
The only reason that The Judge is on Fox is that the Rs are out. If the president had an (R) after his name, The Judge would be commenting at FFF conferences, and Beck wouldn't dare use the "L" word.
People still look to the two-faced Party of State Power. _THAT_ is what has to change.

Just a point on the "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" idea.
It's never been that way. Once Hamilton got his bloodless counter-coup completed with the ratification of the Constitution, career politician became the norm not the exception.
Cannot recommend "Hamilton's Curse" By Tom DiLorenzo highly enough. Great book.
