Another great show. Peter Schiff wasn’t on the original guest list but they found time to include him via phone. Great discussion on the role or lack thereof of the political system in achieving liberty.

More time must be devoted to the exposure of HR 1207. The "Judge" was on the Glenn Beck show last Friday and unfortunately, did not mention it all.

If we want to get to Democrats and Republicans, then we must interest them in something that all Americans have in common: MONEY and HR 1207 addresses that very issue with auditing The Fed. Once they are exposed, then HR 833 will garner additional momentum.

    Thank you – JG

    Dear Lew Rockwell,

First let me say that I greatly admire you and am impressed with your teachings of all things liberty. At first I disagreed with what you said on Freedom Watch on April 29 about replacing one bunch of politicians with another bunch and questioning if that is really the way to go. Since once the “politicians” get in office they seem to lose sight of the constitution and vote against the very essence of what our founding fathers intended. After some thought, though, you are absolutely correct!

I do not want to replace Congress with politicians, but rather with true statesmen and stateswomen. It is quite obvious that our current congress members (with few exceptions) are either incompetent or corrupt, and I have a hard time determining which is correct. No one Congressman or Congresswoman can change anything. Even the masses of people sending their message to Congress in overwhelming numbers cannot get their representatives to vote no for a bill, much less even read it first, or even have debates! We can and must replace them with principled, ethical people who will pledge to follow the constitution.

Where will these people come from? They will come from the masses that Ron Paul either woke up or converted in 2008 during his run for the presidency because they were passionate about saving our country. These are the same people who attended the DC March in July 2008 or the Minneapolis Rally for the Republic in September 2008, or got active in the party. These are the same people who are tired of being ridiculed and misquoted by their respective political parties, by the mainstream media and by those on Capitol Hill. These are the same people who are still active, still committed and will not let their chance at living in a free country slip by so easily.

How will they get elected and not get corrupted? By the power of one person at a time and basic integrity. One candidate supported by one volunteer with their blood sweat and tears, one dollar a month contributed, one vote at a time. These honorable candidates will NOT accept any money from lobbyists or special interest groups so they will only be accountable to the masses of people. Their only promise is to follow the constitution.

But what about the corrupt ones? Sure there will be unethical “politicians” that will jump on the bandwagon and not uphold their pledge to follow the constitution. But since they will have been elected by a majority of people in their district donating time and small amounts of money, and not by big donations by special interest groups or the political parties, they will have to explain to the masses why they lied. I think there would be a strong outcry for their resignation and they would be run out of town. Why? Because all committed followers of liberty will be watching their actions and votes and reporting on these. The imposters will have nowhere to hide.

How can they get funding to get their message out? One dollar a month: Not just from the constituents in their own district, but from people in every state of the union. Why should someone support a candidate not in their own state? Because the bottom line is that if you believe in freedom and the constitution, your values will be heard in DC by any congressperson who votes to strictly follow the constitution. Most of what happens that is despicable in DC is not targeted to your particular state, but to all of us as American citizens (The Patriot Act, the Bailout, the Stimulus, Socialized medicine…..). I truly believe once the many of the general public have a chance to hear the liberty message there will be many, many converts.

We have time to get lots of the right kind of people elected in 2010. It is still early. If all lovers of liberty gave a little, we could have a huge impact. I know that there are other principled men and women in every state who will follow the constitution, and we need to encourage them to run. I support RJ Harris for many reasons, but his quote sums it up:

I pledge my life, liberty, and sacred honor to do all that I can to restore the rule of law, the liberty of all, and the Sovereignty of Oklahoma.

I would appreciate your comments and respect your opinion greatly.

    Peace, Love and Liberty!
