Abe, I know exactly what you mean. I believe the appropriate phrase would be "strike at the root". I'm vivified by the knowledge that there are cops & soldiers out there that put their oaths to the Constitution first.

I agree that if we expect to kill the cancer of the Federal Reserve & the "Income Tax" we have to stop feeding the Leviathan. But unless you own your own business, stop filing tax returns, stop using commercial banks (which are part of the federal reserve system and report your financial activity to the government), 99% of Americans can't realistically just stop paying taxes because a sum GREATER than these taxes are WITHHELD by their employers! People file to get some of their money BACK.

My other point would have to be that we need to use alternative currencies such as the LIBERTY DOLLAR (go to libertydollar.org) because it is the use of Federal Reserve Notes that subjects us to the "Income Tax". Actually, the tax is not directly on our incomes (ruled unconstitutional by the courts) but is in fact an excise for using those Federal Reserve Notes that 99% of Americans get when we go to cash our paychecks!

Problem of problems, the whole current system is a FRAUD. It is un-Constitutional. It was an illegal, treasonous act for Congress in 1913 to cede control of our money to the international bankers. Google "Federal Reserve isn't federal".

Honestly, the current system would collapse overnight if a majority of Americans would opt out, but that's not going to happen: most Americans will not take the necessary action as long as they believe that they would be among the unfortunate first few who would get their doors kicked in by men with guns (IRS enforcement agents). As the case of Ed & Elaine Brown illustrates, people who run afoul of the IRS NEVER get a fair trial, because IRS tax cases are prosecuted in administrative courts (not Article III courts under the Constitution) where you have no Rights and are presumed guilty unless you can PROVE your innocence - no to mention no trial by an independent jury of your peers.

Just remember when you do "Stand For Liberty", don't do it amongst ourselves (which is what they would love happen), Do it against the real problem.

I really liked Tom Woods saying that he'd thought about writing a book about how to learn economics by reading what the government said and then doing the opposite. Years ago, back in the early to mid 1980s I coined what I call "Richardson's First Law of Government." That law states that government will ALWAYS move in the direction exactly opposite to the stated direction.

Knowing this, one can have at their disposal, a ready indicator of where things are headed by merely being able to determine what the opposite actually is. If you, like Gerald Celente pointed out about try to find just ONE program the US government can point to as a success, look, you will NEVER find even one. Certainly not a large one: war on drugs, war on blah, blah, but not even small ones. The history of the federal government since probably the Whiskey Rebellion, has been one of constant, repeated, ever larger failures.

@ William A. Flatt
I think an alternative people often to not either realize or discuss to using our 2nd amendment rights is to just opt out of the system of our fiat currency. And what I mean by that is simple. Stop paying the income tax, sales taxes are okay, and start producing something or go gold panning and start trading with things other than dollars.

If you stop feeding the monster it will die, and the only way to do that to the government is to rob it of its hold on the currency it uses to oppress its own people. I know it is asking a lot of people at first but the sooner that people learn that capitalism is the exchange of CAPITAL for CAPITAL and not a FIAT CURRENCY the better. So if anything i hope people start realizing that DOLLARS =/= CAPITAL. Hopefully some day we will be exchanging gold or silver as well for goods and services again and all this fraud that has developed will cease to exist because of the inherent regulation in exchanging capital for capital, i.e. assets being valued based on promises of debt.

Eve touched on a point I wanted to bring up... she said:
Also, ... nothing will stop until the people take a stand. So how do the people take a stand? How about some discussion on that and what the 2A is really all about. Or is it still too soon?
I've studied the Constitution intensely since I was 7 years old in 1976. No Joke. I look at how far this nation has fallen since the 1970's, and through my scholarship in history I see exactly how far the nation has fallen since the early 1800's. People I know routinely opine how the Founders would roll in their graves if they could see what's happened to our beloved REPUBLIC. So what Eve asks is a natural question: Have we gone so far down the road to tyranny that the only option we have left is to exercise the Original Intent of the 2nd Amendment? That is the reason WHY the MIAC report was issued: the powers that be, especially the threat managers, have assessed the genuine mood of the American people (and ammo is flying off the store shelves) and see that the people think it's time to join their state's militias. The MIAC report was designed to chill legitimate political discussion, and resume the scare tactics to demonize militia groups. The ones that are out there are scrupulously law-abiding, not racist, not anti-Semitic, which is why anti-militia special interests came up with a new nebulous label, "extremist". Unfortunately, that label was used with disturbing effect to connect a direct line between law-abiding political activists and militia groups to white supremacists living in Idaho, radical muslim sleeper-cells, and common criminals with a fetish for camouflage, marijuana, guns and 4x4 pickup trucks.
If tyranny in America is not reversed within the next couple years, Americans generally can agree that a 2nd American Revolution will go from cold to hot. I know a number of cops, guys that I work with, that echo that opinion and if worse comes to pass, intend to stand for Liberty. We don't want it to come to that - - but with so many people asking the question, it begs us to examine how close we are to that last line in the sand.
I know that broadcast radio & TV programs are severely restricted from discussions in that vein because the network execs don't like that kind of talk. That's why if you want to get a sense of how middle-America feels, you have to go to the Internet, read posts like this one. It's also why the Pentagon declared the Internet to be an "enemy weapons system". The enemy is you, the freedom-lover (MIAC report proves that)... and the weapon is information, knowledge.
